ADDITIONAL GAMBLING ADDICTION-SPECIFIC TRAINING & EDUCATION

It is preferred that all providers of gambling-specific education/training be approved by the American Academy. The current list of gambling specific programs, trainings, and conferences approved by the Academy for the Certified Gambling Addiction Specialist include, but are not limited to:

• Training reviewed and approved by the American Psychological Association – www.apa.org;
• Training reviewed and approved by the American Society of Addiction Medicine – www.asam.org;
• Training reviewed and approved by state, provincial or governmental accrediting bodies;
• Training or courses provided by an accredited university;
• Training, courses and conferences provided by the Harvard Medical School, Division on Addictions – www.divisiononaddictions.org;
• Training and courses provided by the Massachusetts Council on Problem Gambling – www.masscompulsivegambling.org;
• Training provided by Distance Learning Center for Addiction Studies – www.dlcas.com;
