Gambling Addiction Specialization

Applicants seeking the Gambling Specialist designation must meet the CAS Minimum Eligibility Requirements and complete the requirements listed below.

  1. Successfully complete all CAS minimum eligibility requirements, including passing the CAS examination.
  2. Document clinically supervised full-time experience in treating clients with a gambling addiction.
  3. Complete a minimum of 60 hours of gambling-specific clinical training.
  4. Provide a signed ethics statement to be on file with the Academy.
  5. Submit an examination fee of $125 USD for the Gambling Specialist examination.
  6. Achieve a passing score on the Academy's Gambling Specialist examination.

The Academy will award the Certified Addiction Specialist with a Gambling Specialist designation upon successfully meeting the CAS Minimum Eligibility Requirements and the Gambling Specialist Eligibility Requirements.
